Accountant
Location: Rutland, Vermont

Job Description
O’Brien Shortle Reynolds & Sabotka, PC, is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing accounting firm. The Accountant will play a critical role in serving our clients in a number of areas including tax preparation, accounting, auditing and financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in accounting principles. The Accountant will collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver quality and timely service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare tax returns of varying complexity independently and accurately, ensuring compliance with state, federal and international tax regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Perform assigned sections of audit/review/compilation engagements under supervision of the in-charge on the overall project.
Collaborate with team members to meet client needs and deadlines.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Background check required.

The Senior Accountant will collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver quality and timely service to our clients.
