Job Description
O’Brien Shortle Reynolds & Sabotka, PC, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting firm. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in serving our clients in a number of areas including tax preparation, accounting, auditing and financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in accounting principles. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver quality and timely service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare tax returns of varying complexity independently and accurately, ensuring compliance with state, federal and international tax regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Perform assigned sections of audit/review/compilation engagements under supervision of the in-charge on the overall project.
Mentor and supervise staff accountants, offering guidance and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise team members effectively.
